Senator Glenn Grothman wants an MATC Board takeover for the 1% and big money interest’s (Updated).

The overriding theme of the GOP, big money corporate interests, and especially US presidential candidate Rick Santorum is that a college education is a bad thing and indoctrinates students to a leftist theology.MATC Milwaukee WI (6)_For Online Use Rick Santorum called President Obama a “snob” for saying all Americans should have an opportunity to go to college.   It is true that those who are educated in science tend to be more “liberal”, as science does not always jive with  the marketing departments and publicity campaigns of Corporations and Ideologically driven organizations.

The problem is Bill SB 275,  The bill basically dismantles the current board and replaces 5 of it’s members with representatives of for-profit business types.  The bill was moved forward by the Senate committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Higher Education.  One of the republicans on the committee that voted in favor of the bill was Dale Schultz, Chair (R-Richland Center).  The same Republican senator that is stopping the mining bill from becoming law (good-good).  None of the committee members who voted to replace educator type board members with businessmen were from districts even close to Milwaukee (Sheila Harsdorf (R-River Falls), Neal Kedzie (R-Elkhorn), Terry Moultin (R-Chippewa Falls).   This is a simple take over of a Tax Payer MATC Milwaukee WI (7)_For Online Usefunded College in order to once again get public money to serve and profit private big money interests.

If this upsets you, there will be a hearing Tuesday, March 6th of the Assembly and Colleges committee. There has been no public hearing to date … There is a bus going to Madison on this from Milwaukee at 7AM … from the Union Office on N 8th St & W Juneau Ave , Milwaukee, WI 53233
