Citizens in Action, the "Reclaim Wisconsin Tour” stops in Kaukauna

“Before Walker, all I ever did was vote” was a statement heard today at a rally in Union Rally Feb 27 12 (8)_For PostKaukauna Wisconsin and pretty much summed it up.  Members of The Wisconsin State AFL-CIO are touring Wisconsin to bring attention to local communities the effects of the policies of Wisconsin Governor Walker, his administration and of his party.

On the "Reclaim Wisconsin Tour” Website, they state … The “Reclaim Wisconsin Tour” will discuss the impact of Gov. Walker’s policies on working people including the loss of family-Union Rally Feb 27 12 (45)_For Postsustaining jobs, the loss of employment protections and benefits, the continual transfer of wealth to Wisconsin’s 1% and the hammering of quality public services and education. The Tour will be making stops in Milwaukee, La Crosse, Wausau, Eau Claire, Green Bay, Racine and Madison (see schedule below for dates)..

Occupy Green Bay, Confusion over their Facebook Pages

The local supporters of the Occupy Wall Street movementOccupy Green Bay first site has experienced some confusion with and over their Facebook Page (or pages, actually).

The original Facebook page (left) is updated only on a part time basis.  There is also a current page that is updated daily (Below).  This page lists the current teach ins and meeting that are held on a weekly basis.

According to the local Occupy Green Bay group, the problem is based in the [OFFICIAL] Occupy Green Bayfact that the original organizer had personal business that came up that restricted his ability to participate and organize for the group.  In order to expedite the flow of information, a second Facebook page was created.  The current Occupy Green Bay page lists current events, notices. links to information, and the current members of the group.  Meetings are held on a regular basis on almost every Saturday on the Harmony Café in Green Bay, Wi.

The local current organizers ask that f one wishes to contact Occupy Green Bay please use the site to link the left (Click on the photo at left) or the link above.

Wisconsin Citizens up in Arms over Mining Politics, Protests in Green Bay and Throughout Wisconsin

With major political developments in the last 48 hours many Wisconsin citizens, both liberal and conservative, are in shock.  With the sudden disbanding of the Senate Committee on Mining Jobs that Mine protest GB Feb 17 (4)_For Postwas telling voters that the mining Mine protest GB Feb 17 (2)_For Postbill passed by the Assembly in January was dead, one must wonder just what the committee had been planning on reporting.  They also promised the people of Wisconsin that a Senate version of the bill would be done through a legislative process that was more deliberate and have more input from the people involved and effected in the areas on the mine through public hearings before going to a vote.  That will now now happen, and there will be little or no public input.  Pay to play is alive and well in Wisconsin.

In this sudden move to force the bill forward without any public scrutiny, the forces of Corporate Government have initiated a sneak attack on the people in order Mine protest GB Feb 17 (5)_For Postto force Laws on the citizenry that benefits corporate profits over the welfare of the people, the respect of the institution of Democracy and the welfare of the Natural Resources of the State of Wisconsin.

Acting on his own, Wisconsin Senate majority leader Scott Fitzgerald suddenly and without any warning disbanded the Senate Committee on Mining Jobs that was formed and lead by Senator Neal Kedzie (Sen.Kedzie@legis.wisconsin.gov) (SD 11, Elkhorn), the lead bill author and chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee. As Wisconsin Senate majority leader Scott Fitzgerald stated himself, this was to prevent the opposition of mine by any other interests.

Planned in advance of the developments of recent, a group of NE Wisconsin and Green Bay residents marched in protest this afternoon at the Brown County Courthouse exercising their right to assembly and to show discontent with the political situation, or dictatorship style of governing by the current majority in Wisconsin Government.  Mine protest GB Feb 17 (6)_For Post

I cover many of the aspects of this controversy in my last report.  The successful smokescreen of jobs and economic benefit of the proposed mine put out the the bought and paid for representation of the GOP in Wisconsin can cause confusion and misunderstanding.  We are working a detailed report (video) on the effects of Iron Ore mining on other small communities and the good or bad that have been caused by such in the past.  Look for it in the next few weeks.

Iran, War, and Green Bay’s Freedom Coalition.

USS Enterprise (CVN 65) cruises underway in the Atlantic

Iran has been a major player in American politics and foreign policy for decades.  Even longer if one includes the history of the area and the influence that colonial western countries have had over time.

Democracy was even overthrown there once by the American CIA in order to install the “Shaw of Iran”, to replace the elected president that wouldn’t play ball with US Oil interests and those who stand most to profit from Iranian Oil resources with one that would.  This kind of Keystone Cops Foreign policy lead to the dangerous situation we now have today.

Regardless of ones position on Iran and their nuclear program, a shooting war with the Near Asian country could have strong consequences not only in the region, but throughout the world and even here on American soil.

Iran is a country with an advanced and experienced Special Forces that is capable of striking worldwide not only with direct action but through proxy as well.

Developments and moves on both sides tend one to think that a conflict could be imminent.  Hostilities may even start without the direct involvement of US Armed Forces.

The fact that the country was once headed towards normalized relations with the US, and have not only conducted a huge vigil for 911 victims shortly after that day, to assisting US Forces with limited intelligence.  That is until the day an uninformed US President linked Iran to some sort of “Axis of Evil” that lurked out in the shadows.

Things changed.  Rapidly the reaction of the Iranian people would be that as expected.  Eventually the moderate Iranian President was replaced.  By a former member of Iranian Special Forces.

They also re-doubled their efforts to develop nuclear power.

This brings us to the point where we are now facing military conflict with an enemy that is a master at asymmetric Warfare.  An enemy that we will quickly find will then actually be lurking in the shadows.

Here, in this photo slide a group of NE Wisconsin citizens demonstrate to show their unhappiness with the current state of affairs, and where they are heading.
